In 2002 Ras Rugged (better known as governor general rugged), the mighty Selecta I-Man (nowadays Good Vibration Selecta) & DJ Abillity founded a soundsystem which started as a Reggae & D´n´B Sound. In the beginning of 2003 the project was named “FIRECLATH SOUND” and the Concept became clear: Fireclath always been a Soundsystem, which is focused on Dancehall, but also open minded to all other influences like Hip Hop, Reggae, Oldies, Jungle & everything else that shake a leg. After Fireclath gained ground in Austria the Formation changed. Governor General & his new Operator Luger brought a new wind to the austrian Dancehallgame when they started to produce revolutionary Remixes. After “La Oona Montana” & Trabzon´s Finest “Ufuk” joined the Sound Fireclath became one of the most versatile Sounds in europe. While “La Oona Montana” is known for her mad “Female-Selections”, Selecta combine every kind of electronic music in a way that is also Dancehall-compatible. Fireclath organized a lot of Partys in their Hometown “Linz”, their secondary Residence “Istanbul”, played Shows in Belgium, Italy, Germany, CZ, Lebanon & toured nearly all over France!
Widespread, everywhere they play, the mystery “FIRECLATH” fan out an uncompareable Fire. The energy of the different Selecta´s attach the guests directly and make even the average person loose control. Governor General Rugged is well known as a DJ & Entertainer, somewhere between stand-up comedy & Political Contents. Fireclath is known for unexpected live shows, very creative Specials & a “Heavy-weight-selection”!
Luger & Rugged describe themself more as Club-Dj..s than average Selectas. When the governor give order everybody follow! The Duo produced over 6 Mix Cd´s (amont “Forward ever, Backward never” & the legendarian “2KCRIME”) In 2009 the Future Artists “Sista Brenda”, “Biga Ranx”, “Alice Harper”, “Father Flavor” and “Osama” joined the sound and Fireclath grew.
The Sound is also proud to be the first Sound who brought Dancehall & Reggae to the Shout Partys in Beyrut (Lebanon).
